StarWomanPlus-
What is inspiration to you? And how do you get inspired?
Ginger Dean-
I am inspired by anything related to my passions: helping people live their best lives. Inspiration means to live according to the very things that drives your heart and feeds your soul.
SWP- Are you on a journey with destiny? What is the journey? What is your destiny?
GD-I believe I am. I am not quite certain of the final destination but I am enjoying the ride as God slowly peels back the onion.
SWP-Have doubt & faith affected your core/vision/mission/purpose? How?
GD- Of course! Sometimes life - happens! And you're left with either wallowing in disbelief or allowing yourself to hold tight to the vision and keep pressing towards the goal of that season in life.
SWP- You have an abundant plan for your life, right? How do you want to get there?
GD-With laser focused planning, organization and persistence.
SWP- Is whatever you are involved with an effective tool for change?
GD-I think being both a psychotherapist and the owner/curator of Girls Just Wanna Have Funds allows me to help women live their best lives - financially and emotionally. These issues are at the center of women's lives every day and bringing them to the forefront helps women start the conversation - eventually learning to master it. That is manage their money well while living an emotionally health life.
SWP-In what ways should women maximize the abilities in their vision?
GD-We should be committed to our vision even when we feel like quitting. Someone out there is waiting on us to inspire change and use our gifts to help them.
SWP-When did you begin to embrace and become aware of your purpose/vision? What was your reaction?
GD-Once I became a psychotherapist, I embraced and became aware of my purpose of helping people find the clarity needed in their life. I was happy. To know that I was on the right path. I went through a few Masters programs in grad school to finally get to what it is that I wanted to do with my life.
SWP-A woman's mind and soul are important? How important?
GD-Very important. She has to be connected to the spirit within in order to seek wholeness and receive the guidance needed for her life.
SWP-How should our educational systems be involved in helping girls discover their purpose?
GD- The educational system as a whole needs to be and should be revamped. Right now it teaches kids to be obedient rote workers. The system as it stands now can help girls discover their purpose by building in more opportunities to explore other areas of life from an early age. How many of us are utilizing the subjects we learned in elementary and high school? Learning truly begins after school ends. It would be an awesome and synergistic process to have someone guiding them at a young age. There'll be less despair and "quarter life crisis".
SWP-Who are (is) your mentor(s)? What have you learnt from them?
GD-I have several mentors in the mental health field. I have a few personally. I refer to them as my Sisterhood of Success.
SWP -Those times that seem as if nothing is working, how do you pull yourself through?
GD-I take a step back and pray. I used to wallow in self pity but that doesn’t work and it hurts to keep doing . So, I focus on what I want or need to happen and keep working towards it. At some point, I will figure out where I went wrong.
SWP-Any last words for women/girls out there standing by and for their dreams?
GD-Go after your dreams, but make sure that you've prayed about and received validation for the road you're about to embark upon.
SWP- Share 5 quotes that have changed your life.
"The first step in moving towards our dreams is admitting first that you're worthy of such a destination. The rest, all falls into place. Spirituality contains alot of paradoxes. One of them is to trust in God and let go. By
surrendering you actually gain the ability to heal, grow and cope with even the most difficult circumstances. That is the place where the miracles happen, and
they do. When you let go, the magic starts. Imagine not having to be afraid and
hurt. You just know it will be ok. It is possible to live like that." -

The people who trigger us, or cause us to feel negative emotion are messengers. They are messengers for the unhealed parts of our being- Teal Swan
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Psalm 138:7-8
I was thought to be 'stuck up.' I wasn't. I was just sure of myself. This is and always has been an unforgivable quality to the unsure. - Bette Davis
"When it comes to love, so many times it is so hard to let go of what we can't control because we are busy holding on to false expectations. Emotionally attaching yourself to your own sentiments rather than facing the fact of reality can actually make you a victim of your own personal desires. Everyone is uniquely different, with personalities, standards and limitations. Where one can give abundantly, someone else may not be able to give at all. To put expectations on others of that which I expect of myself, is not fair to them or me. More times than not, this leads to disappointment and dissension. Hold on to hope, but let go of expectations. What will be will be. You can’t make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, the rest is up to the person to realize your worth."
